Not profit and loss.
Peace and Love.
Most people are watching the wrong scoreboard.
They track revenue, margins, stress, obligations, deadlines, and everything that feels urgent. They can tell you what is broken in the business, in the economy, in the country, and in the world. But far fewer are keeping an eye on the ledger that may matter most right now:
- How much peace are you creating?
- How much love are you giving?
We are living in a time where too much that’s going on feels outside our control. The headlines are loud. The pace is relentless. Negativity spreads fast. Fear spreads faster. It is easy to become reactive, cynical, distracted, or emotionally drained.
What could you do differently?
- Become a source of calm.
- Become a source of steadiness.
- Become a source of hope.
That does not happen through grand gestures alone. It happens through small, consistent deposits made every single day.
- Open the door for someone.
- Smile first.
- Make someone laugh.
- Send the text.
- Check on a friend.
- Tell people you love them.
- Help someone feel safe.
- Help someone feel seen.
- Help someone believe the world still has goodness in it.
These are not soft acts. These are strong acts.
In a world filled with tension, kindness is strength. In a world filled with noise, peace is leadership. In a world that can feel cold, love is a contribution.
Just like in business, what gets measured gets improved. So maybe it is time for a different kind of personal audit.
Are you adding more peace to the rooms you enter? Are you bringing more love to the people around you? Are others safer, lighter, stronger, or more encouraged because you showed up?
That is a P&L worth paying attention to.
This week, make a few more deposits.
- A kind word.
- A helping hand.
- A little more patience.
- A bit more graceful.
- A little more love spoken aloud.
Because a rich life is not built only by what you earn. It is built by what you give.
So here is the challenge:
Before this week is over, do 3 simple things: encourage someone, help someone, and tell someone you love them.
That is how you strengthen your P&L.
