The Speed of the Leader is the Speed of the Gang

Mary Kay Ash, Founder and Visionary behind the multi-level marketing Company, Mary Key cosmetics inspired a sales force of over 800,000 people!

Born in 1918, Mary Kay sold books door to door, divorced in 1945, then launched Mary Kay Cosmetics with a $5,000 investment from her oldest son Ben. They took the Company public in 1968.

More importantly, they did much more than selling cosmetics, Mary Kay Cosmetics changed lives!

“The speed of the leader is the speed of the gang.”

Her words of inspiration still ring true today – a leader sets the tone for an organization which drives others towards success. After all, people are inspired and motivated by the vision of the leader before they buy into the product, plans, and projections.

Why do sports teams perform better than most entrepreneurial companies? Are players excited about getting on the team? 100% yes! Do they go faster? Also, yes.

How do they consistently perform at superior levels? Intensive recruiting (led with data), precision with onboarding (try outs/training), tracking & measurements, playbooks, systems and processes, fitness, meal plans, mental toughness, performance reviewed on films played in slow moving. After each play, certainly in football, they are on the sidelines leveraging technology and information to see how they could do better on the very next play.

What drives all of this? The mindset of the head coach and spirit of the organization, and the fans. The customers.

How are you doing in your business?

The human factor, the people piece has always been the critical driver.

Will we soon see the 1st billion-dollar company formed and grown to a billion dollars of revenue with one person. That Unicorn will soon roam the fields of business, and there will be more.

How will this happen? With a great idea driven and operated via Artificial Intelligence.

What would the Mary Kay Company do with AI? How would it have sped manufacturing, data, product development, new product launches, marketing, customer service?

There has never been a time where focusing on bringing in the right people, onboarding them properly (recognizing that not everyone makes it through Navy Seal training – willingness to cut early) investing heavily in their growth and development, and new to the training table, leveraging AI to boost productivity & their impact by 10x or more.

But first, what is your speed as a leader and the current team you have on the field?

Things are moving faster, are you?
